DESCRIPTION:
EMEC GEL is sodium montmorillonite clay that meets OCMA specs DFCP-4.
APPLICATION:
EMEC GEL is used to provide viscosity, gel strength and reduce fluid
loss in water base muds. When mud system contains high chloride
content, prehydrating of EMEC GEL in fresh water (Chlorides <
4 K mg/L) is essential prior addition to the salt mud.
TECHNICAL INFORMATION:
EMEC GEL is the primary well wall building and suspending agent
in a fresh water mud system. A standard recommendation of 20 lbs
of EMEC GEL/bbl of fresh water is sufficient to build up a bentonite
mud system. High concentration of calcium and magnesium will prevent
hydration of EMEC GEL, therefore treating calcium and magnesium
from water before adding EMEC GEL is essential to obtain a good
performance of the product.
PACKAGING:
EMEC GEL is packaged in 25 kg multi wallpaper bags.
HAZARDS:
EMEC GEL is non-toxic compound and does not ferment; no special
care is required while mixing.
