HSE Policy

The personnel safety and health of each employee in EMEC is of primary importance. Accident prevention is therefore the responsibility of each individual where management will provide the facilities and support required for personnel safety and health.

The only way to do is the "right way" and the right way is always the safest way. Good job performance and safety go hand in hand.

EMEC will maintain a safety and health program that will not only reduce the number of injuries and illness to a minimum but will also move our company to its goal of zero accidents and injuries.

The purpose of safety manual is to assist each employee to perform his/her job safely.

This manual provides guide lines for operational aspects including exploration drilling and detail on the handling of chemicals (SHOC) cards containing health, safety and environmental advice on each chemical.

Drilling fluid system are complex and are recognized as a whole rather than by parts. Chemicals are tested individually to determine environmental health and how to deal with these products and fluid system (SHOC) cards.

Since EMEC's objective is providing mud products and services to operating companies with zero accident and no injuries to our staff, therefore each employee must continually perform his/her job in a safe efficient manner.

1. FOLLOWING ARE GENERAL SAFETY RULES MADE FOR EMEC EMPLOYEE IN ALL
    OPERATIONS:

Never perform any job unless you know how to do it safely and check with your supervisor for help if there is any doubt, before it is too late.

1. Forbidden report to work when you are under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

2. Any kind of horseplay is strictly forbidden.

3. Report immediately for any hazardous condition to your supervisor for action.

4. When lifting objects is required, do not twist your body, lift with your legs not with your back. Ask for assistance if it is too heavy for you.

5. Wear the proper clothes for each job and use the right tools to perform your job safely.

6. Do not open more than one drawer of a filing cabinet at a time and do not leave the drawer open and walk away.

7. Store hazard material in a designated area and other materials should be stored in orderly manner.

8. In high noise area, ear plugs should be warn for ear protection.

9. Respect and follow all warning sign and tags, they are posted for your safety.


2. OUR SAFETY AND HEALTH PROGRAM WILL INCLUDE:

1. Training all employees on good safety and health practices.

2. Providing necessary personnel protective equipment and instructions for its us and care.

3. Investigating, promptly and thoroughly, every accident to discover its cause and to correct the problem to prevent reoccurrence.

4. Setting up a system of recognition and awards for outstanding safety performance.

3. IT IS UNDERSTOOD THAT THE RESPONSIBILITIES FOR SAFETY AND HEALTH ARE
    SHARED AS FOLLOWS:

1. Management accepts the responsibility to provide a safe working environment for its employees and see that each employee conducts his duties in safe workman like manner.

2. Supervisors are responsible for developing the proper attitudes towards safety and health and ensure that all operations are performed with

3. All employees are responsible to co-operate with every aspect of the safety and health program including compliance with all rules and regulations and the continuous practice of safety in their day duties.


It is important that each employee of EMEC must realize that failure to perform their duties in a safe, workman like manner can result in their termination compliance with company policies.

HSE Rules

ALL EMEC EMPLOYEES WILL ABIDE BY THE FOLLOWING RULES:

1. Be sure that you know how to do the job, as well as what to do.

2. Look over each new assignment to determine the possible hazards.

3. Report all unusual incidents or rear misses that could cause an injury if reported.

4. Familiarize yourself with means of escape.

5. Provide yourself with suitable safety means before working on elevated places.

6. Give assistance to new employees.

7. Put on your safety cap & safety boot before attending on the rig.

8. Use eye and face protection where there is danger from flying objects or particles, such as when grinding, chipping, burning and welding, etc.

9. Dress properly. Wear appropriate work clothes, gloves, and shoes or boots. Loose clothing and jewelry should not be worn.

10. Properly care for and be responsible for all personal protective equipment.

11. Maintain housekeeping as good as possible. Keep places of work and surroundings clean. Keep the uses mud in their proper places. Walkways will keep clear at all times.

12. Do not leave materials in aisles, walkways, stairways, roads or other points of egress.

13. Practice good housekeeping at all times.

14. Do not stand or sit on sides of moving equipment.

15. Report unsafe conditions to your immediate supervisor.

16. Promptly report all injuries to your immediate supervisor.

17. If you got injured - hopping not - you have to notify your direct boss and make sure that the physician had recorded it in the clinic record. Moreover, the area managers must informed to fill EMEC accident investigation form even if it seemed to be minor.

18. The company offers an exceptional medical care for the employees on her own expense. Some of them may need to be transferred to either a special hospital or a specific specialist. It is a must to follow - up the case coping with the company physician to receive his instructions concerning the leaves even if the case was a job related injury. Any contradiction for the above mentioned statement will deserve a penalty.

19. Do not rush and disregard safety when quitting work or at shift change. The pain to you and the inconvenience to the company are the same whenever you are injured. Continue to apply safety principles in all your activities.

20. Never operate any machine unless all guards and safety devices are in place and in proper operating condition.

21. Do not operate machinery if you are not authorized to do so.

22. Prohibited smoking on rig floor, around engines and around storage tanks.

23. Be alert, do not stand in hazardous areas or positions and keep out from under over head load.

24. Use good common sense to determine the safest way to carry out your duties. When in doubt, ask.

25. Never take chances, work in a safe manner. This will prove to be the fastest and most efficient way of carrying out your duties.

26. Advise your area manager of those individuals who have no regard for the safety of others.

27. Advise your area manager of any defect or deteriorated tool or part, which you may notice at rig location.

28. Horseplay, practical jokes, or scuffing will not be tolerated.

29. All posted safety rules must be obeyed and must not be removed except by management's authorization.

30. The company is waiting for the best performance of the employees to utilize the equipment as well as the specific materials of the company. The employees have to cooperate and do their best for the company's benefit. This benefit is ours. Vehicles are a very good example in this concern.

31. The company respects your right as an individual to pursue your private interests without interference. But, you should not engage in activities which conflict with the interest of your employer or require use of company time, material, or equipment,. You should not engage in activities, which impair your job performance and efficiency included your mental or physical alertness on this job.

32. It is absolutely prohibited to use any drugs or spirituous liquors at the work location. Any contradictor will be fired.

33. Comply at all times with all known federal, state and local safety laws as well as employer regulations and policies.
