Company
Profile
EMEC started its operations in 1984 as a mud chemical supply and
drilling fluid engineering company. It has rendered its services
to various operating companies in Egypt, Syria, Qatar and Saudi
Arabia to fulfill the following tasks:
1. Supply of all chemicals and products for water and oil base
drilling fluids.
2. Engineering services to achieve optimum mud drilling fluid performance.
A. EGYPT OPERATION
BAPETCO: (SHELL)
Since 1984, EMEC has been supplying mud materials and engineering
services to Badr Petroleum Company for their Western Desert and
offshore rigs where we have implemented the ready mixed barrel system.
This system has led to considerable savings in the total mud bill.
AGIBA: (IEOC)
Since 1986, EMEC has been awarded contract to supply material and
engineering services for Agiba drilling rigs operating in the Western
Desert.
KHALDA: (REPSOL)
Since 1987, EMEC has been awarded mud materials and engineering
services to cover drilling fluid operations on Khalda rigs in the
Western Desert. We have successfully used oil base mud to drill
horizontal well for the first time in Egypt.
SUCO: (DEMINEX)
From 1984 through to the end of 1989, EMEC was awarded the opportunity
to supervise Suco drilling fluid activities in both Ras Badran and
Zeit Bay fields (Onshore and Offshore Area), where our organizing
pilot testing and system improvement troubles shooting.
GUPCO: (AMOCO)
Since 1987, EMEC has supplied mud materials and engineering services
to cover 30% of Gupco drilling operations in the Gulf of Suez and
Western Desert. This market share was increased to 50% on January,1999.
PETROBEL: (AGIP)
Since 1988, EMEC has supplied mud materials and engineering services
to Petrobel, covering 50% of its drilling fluid operations in offshore
& onshore.
BRITISH GAS:
Since the beginning of 1997, EMEC has supplied mud materials and
engineering services to cover drilling fluids operation on British
Gas rigs on offshore
" Mediterranean".
QARUN:
Since 1996, EMEC has supplied mud materials and engineering services
to Qarun.
B. SYRIAN OPERATIONS
In April 1990, EMEC extended its operations to Syria and established
an operating base in Damascus to supply mud materials and engineering
services.
AL FURAT: (SHELL)
In November 1990, EMEC was awarded a 2 years contract to supply
mud and engineering services to Al Furat drilling and work over
rigs operating in Deir Ezzor area. This contract was awarded to
EMEC after 2 fields trial wells had been drilled trouble free at
a considerable reduction in mud costs relative to the previous wells
drilled in the same area. We have successfully used no-damaging
drilling fluids to drill the first horizontal well in Syria.
In January 1992, EMEC was awarded 2 years contract to supply mud
chemicals and engineering services to Al Furat for the second time.
In September 1995, EMEC awarded a 3 years contract to supply mud
chemicals and Engineering services to Al Furat. We have established
mud plant with capacity of 8000 bbls.
BRITISH PETROLEUM
In January 1991, EMEC was awarded the supply of mud materials and
engineering services to drill 2 wells for British Petroleum Company
in Deir Ezzor Area. The two wells were drilled satisfactorily with
EMEC's proposed program which led to much lower mud costs compared
to the drilled offset wells.
VARIOUS COMPANIES:
In March 1993, EMEC was awarded to supply mud materials and engineering
services to drill 2 wells for Tullow and 3 wells for DPL. These
wells were drilled successfully and trouble free with lower mud
cost compared to the drilled offset wells.
C. QATAR OPERATIONS
In 1993, EMEC was awarded a two years contract to supply mud materials
and engineering services to cover the offshore operations of Qatar
General Petroleum Company (QGPC).
In 1995, EMEC was awarded a two years contract to supply mud materials
and engineering services to cover 100% for Qatar General Petroleum
Company (QGPC).
In 1997, EMEC was awarded a contract to supply mud materials and
engineering services to cover the onshore operations of the Qatar
General Petroleum Company (QGPC).
We have proposed a new mud program, which led to a reduction in
total mud cost, compared to drilled off set wells at trouble free
operations.
D. SAUDI ARABIA OPERATIONS
In June 1995, EMEC was awarded a four years contract to provide
well site mud engineers to cover all Saudi Aramco rigs total of
34 onshore & offshore drilling rigs.
In 2002, the contract was renewed for another 5 years (till 2007),
while the total number of rigs increased to 52 (June 2003).
