DESCRIPTION:
EMEC MIL is a synthetic, inorganic polymer (magnesium aluminum hydroxide)
compound. Applied in drilling and milling fluids, it interacts with
Wyoming Bentonite to form an extremely Hi Viscosity with fragile
gel.
APPLICATION:
EMEC MIL is a good shale inhibitor. It achieves excellent cuttings
transport especially in horizontal wells. It gives higher return
permeabilities than Bentonite-free mud, so-called non-damaging polymer
fluids. It is very successful in milling jobs with 50% reduced milling
time and cost.
TECHNICAL INFORMATION:
EMEC MIL is used in concentration of 0.2-0.3% (0.7-1.0 ppb) this
low dosage results in cost effective mud systems. In static conditions
the gel strength of Bentonite/EMEC MIL provides high viscosity for
suspension of barite and cuttings. When pumped the mud instantaneously,
it thins to an almost water like fluid. EMEC MIL mud is temperature
stable in excess of 400°F. EMEC MIL fluids are not shear-degradable.
Nacl, KCL and any brine containing as much as 100,000 mg/l Chloride,
Calcium/Magnesium does not destroy the unique rheology of EMEC MIL
fluids.
PACKAGING:
EMEC MIL is packaged in 25 lbs multiply paper bags.
HAZARDS:
Non toxic.
