DESCRIPTION:
EMEC THIN is an amber, viscous, oil dispersible liquid
for all oil base mud containing organophilic clay (EMEC VIS).
APPLICATION:
EMEC THIN is used in oil base mud to reduce excessive
viscosity developed as a result of contamination, high temperatures
or over treatment with organophilic clay. EMEC THIN is effective
in thinning oil base mud without significant reduction in fluid
density.
TECHNICAL INFORMATION:
EMEC THIN is recommended to be added to the mud to maintain
good flow properties when weighting materials are added or when
solids are incorporated during drilling. EMEC THIN has a tendency
to coat the surfaces of shale and other solids, maintaining good
flow properties and preventing water wetting of solids. It also
acts as an emulsifier in compounding low-water content oil muds.
PACKAGING:
EMEC THIN is supplied in 55 gal steel drum.
HAZARDS:
EMEC THIN is toxic; precaution should be taken while handling.
