DESCRIPTION:
HSS is an organic metallic compound ZnCO3,
which is an effective scavenger for HYDROGEN SULFIDE in water base
drilling fluids.
APPLICATION:
EMEC HSS is used to react with Hydrogen Sulfide that enters
drilling fluid as an influx from formation gas. It precipitates
the sulfide from H2S forming Zinc
Sulfide, which is an insoluble salt.

TECHNICAL INFORMATION:
Pretreat drilling fluid with 2-3 LB/BBL EMEC HSS prior
drilling a formation suspected of containing H2S.
Depending upon the severity of H2S
influx, the content might increase up to 6 lb/bbl. It is advisable
to maintain pH of the mud all the time above 10.5.
PACKAGING:
HSS is packaged in 50 lbs polyethylene bag.
HAZARD:
HSS is a toxic material; precautions should be taken while
handling, and usage.
