DESCRIPTION:
OSP is OXYGEN SCAVENGER in powder form (Sodium Sulfite).
Which is used in all water base mud systems to inhibit pitting corrosion
type due to Oxygen intrusion.
APPLICATION:
OSP is used to prevent and control oxygen corrosion on
drill pipes. As OSP will not react readily in acidic environments,
therefore the pH should be controlled with Caustic Soda prior adding
OSP.
TECHNICAL INFORMATION:
Treatments with OSP should be based on the knowledge of
dissolved oxygen. Treating solution is prepared at 1 lb per gallon
of fresh water and added to the mud with chemical pump.
NOTE:
Solubility of Oxygen will decrease as the mud salinity
increases.
PACKAGING:
OSP is packaged in 25 kg per multi wallpaper bag.
HAZARDS:
OSP is a toxic material; precaution should be taken while
handling.
